Choir ready for festival

A COLLEGE choir is preparing for a special guest appearance at Dalkeith Palace as part of this summer's Performing Arts Festival.

Newbattle Abbey College's Rough and Ready Choir is made up of around 15 staff, students and local friends and family and commands a repertoire of traditional songs.

Marian Docherty, deputy principal of the college, said: "As a member of the Rough and Ready Choir myself, I think it will be an interesting and exciting experience to perform at Dalkeith Palace, not least because of the history of the building."

The festival takes place on Wednesday.
