China replaces leading diplomat

China has replaced a top diplomat as it heads to greater assertiveness in territorial disputes.

Vice foreign minister Zhang Zhijun took over as the ministry's Communist Party secretary, putting him in line to take over from foreign minister Yang Jiechi, who was criticised for his handling of Washington's claim peaceful resolution of South China Sea disputes was a US national interest.
