Chileans convicted over 'disappeared'

A DOZEN Chilean military officers were given jail sentences ranging from 15 years to life by a Paris court yesterday, over the disappearance of four French nationals during late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet's rule.

The 12 Chileans, and an Argentine officer, were convicted in their absence after a three-day trial.
