Children among 10 injured after fight in Glasgow flat

Ten people, including eight children, have been injured after a fight broke out inside a flat in Glasgow in the early hours of Tuesday morning, police have confirmed.

The incident happened in a property on Raithburn Road in the city’s Castlemilk area, at 4.40am, with the ten injured people being taken to the city’s new hospital.

Eight children and two adults were treated following the disturbance, and the street has been cordoned off, according to local reports.

A Police Scotland spokesman told STV: “Emergency services attended and a number of people, two women and eight children, have been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“Enquiries are at a very early stage.

“Police remain in the area continuing enquiries.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We dispatched six ambulances, our special operations response team and a manager to the scene.

“Two female adult patients and eight children were transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
