Cherry good news for park

CHERRY trees are set to be recycled and turned into benches at a park in the Capital.

The Friends of Braidburn Park want to create four wooden benches using cherry trees that are being felled as part of a replanting project being carried out by the city council's parks department.

It has applied for 1,300 of funding from the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership for the project.

It was expected that the application would be approved at a meeting being held today.
