‘Chemical incident’ at Dundee Hilton hotel

Staff and guests at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in the city’s Kingsway West were evacuated around 7.30am following an emergency incident at the hotel.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four fire appliances and two specialist units had been called to the scene, opposite the Dundee technology park, at 7.32am this morning.

She said: “We are dealing with a chemical incident - a mixture of two chemicals - and we are currently waiting on one of our specialist advisers arriving on scene. The hotel has been evacuated but there are no reports of any injuries.”
