Chapel adds new director

A NEW director has been appointed to the 15th-century Midlothian visitor attraction Rosslyn Chapel.

Ian Gardner has taken up his role with the Rosslyn Chapel Trust – a charity established in 1996 to care for the iconic chapel.

Originally from Dunbar, Mr Gardner previously worked for the National Trust for Scotland and Edinburgh City Museums.

Through these roles, he has worked extensively within Scotland’s tourism industry and is a former chairman of the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions.

Dating from 1446, the chapel – made famous by Hollywood blockbuster The Da Vinci Code – was built by Sir William St Clair.
