Cell discovery breakthrough

A DISCOVERY about the make-up of human cells could lead to the development of a new type of medicine.

Scientists from Edinburgh University have found medicines would be more effective if they were designed differently.

They believe drugs could have a greater effect on cell function by targeting groups of proteins rather than individual proteins.

Dr Victor Neduva, from Edinburgh University, said: "Our studies have revealed an intricate network of proteins."
