'Celebrate' Scotland's food

VISITOR attractions could do more to promote Scottish food and drink, the government said yesterday.

Rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead admitted that many tourist attractions were already offering up local produce to their visitors. But he said: "Many others could do a lot more to celebrate and offer our famous dishes to visitors from home and abroad."

He spoke out as representatives from 50 tourist attractions met in Glasgow to discuss how they could help to showcase Scottish food and drink.
