Catriona Shearer returns to Napier to discuss career

TELEVISION presenter Catriona Shearer is returning to her former university to talk about getting her big break in 
journalism.

The BBC Scotland newsreader is taking part in Edinburgh Napier’s Media Mondays, a series of talks open to both students and the public.

Ms Shearer graduated with an honours degree in journalism from the university ten years ago and last year was named Alumni of the Year by current journalism students.

After leaving Napier, she worked on BBC Radio 5 Live’s breakfast show and presented a sports programme for BBC Radio Wales in Cardiff before moving to BBC Scotland.

She was a radio producer and a travel reporter on Good Morning Scotland and now presents Reporting Scotland on BBC1.

Her talk on Monday will be in Room B2 at the Merchiston Campus, 10 Colinton Road, 1-2pm. Entry is free and open to all.
