Casualty star’s Capital role

A STAR of TV hospital drama Casualty is to take the leading role in a new play at this year’s Festival.

Catherine Shipton, better known as nurse Duffy on the BBC show, will appear in Soldiers’ Wives at the Assembly@Roxy in August.

It tells the tale of five wives living on an army base somewhere in England, who get caught up in the tension of waiting for their men to return from war unharmed. A frontline incident then forces each woman to confront hidden and painful truths.
