Castle’s a fair place for weddings

A WEDDING fair is set to show off Edinburgh Castle as “one of the most romantic locations in Scotland”.

Five venues will be open to married couples-to-be, including St Margaret’s Chapel, the oldest building in Edinburgh, and the Queen Anne Room.

Castle executive manager Nick Finnigan said: “Edinburgh Castle is one of the most romantic locations in Scotland.

“With award-winning catering, panoramic views across the city and beyond and stunning settings steeped in history, getting married at Edinburgh Castle is sure to provide the perfect day.”

The open day will take place on October 13 between 11am and 4pm. Those interested in attending are asked to register in advance by sending an e-mail to [email protected], with the lead name of the wedding party and how many will be attending.

When guests arrive at the Esplanade, they will cross the drawbridge into the main entrance area before collecting tickets from the 19th-century Gatehouse Suite.
