Cashing in on child’s play

SCHOOLS in the Capital are to benefit after a fund aimed at the improvement of outdoor play areas was extended.

Now in its second year, the Central Scotland Green Network’s learning outdoors fund will provide money to help the development of outdoor space around nurseries and schools.

Educational establishments will be able to apply for grants of between £200 and £350 to develop areas within their grounds and beyond.

Keith Geddes, CSGN partnership board chair, said: “A key priority for the CSGN is to create an environment which supports healthy lifestyles.”
