Care homes get keyed up

Residents in Bupa care homes across the Capital are preparing to bring musical eras and legends to life as part of Musical Moments week.

The initiative is aimed at promoting the therapeutic benefits music offers older people.

Members of the community are invited to a 1960s 
Hollywood-themed event at Victoria Manor Care Home from 2pm on Wednesday, or a traditional Scottish party at Pentland Hills Care Home from 3pm.

Karen Smith, care home manager, said: “It doesn’t matter if you have a favourite musical legend or just love listening to music, we’re going to get everyone involved in celebrating how powerful music is in lifting spirits, getting minds dancing and toes tapping.”
