Car tragedy appeal

POLICE are investigating the death of a 21-year-old who died after being hit by a car.

The young man died at the scene after he was knocked down by the car on the B743 Mauchline Road at Mossblown in south Ayrshire.

The accident happened shortly before midnight on Friday, police said.

Sergeant Ian Lawrie, who is leading the investigation, said: "A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently ongoing, and we are appealing for any witnesses."

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
