Car crashed into house court hears

A joyrider being chased by police lost control of the stolen car he was in and crashed into a house, a court has heard.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told that the Vauxhall Corsa Christopher Buchan was driving tore a drainpipe from the wall.

The car was finally brought to a halt a few yards further on when it hit a concrete bollard.

Buchan, 28, of Livingston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence after earlier pleading guilty to stealing the car on September 23 last year, careless driving and driving with 127 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Sheriff Joan Kerr sentenced Burns to be tagged for four months and banned him from driving for 34 months.
