Capital youngsters in award running for work with blind

A GROUP of young people from the Capital have been picked as regional finalists for a top award after campaigning for the rights of the blind.

Haggeye, a group which includes young people aged between 12 and 25, is in the running for the Philip Lawrence Awards.

Celebrating outstanding contributions made by young people in their community, the awards were set up in memory of headteacher Philip Lawrence who was murdered outside his London school in December 1995 while trying to protect a pupil from a gang attack.
