Capital student sows seeds for success with award win

A STUDENT has won a prestigious award for her “outstanding” dissertation comparing agri-environment schemes in Scotland and Wales.

Sian Jones received the gong from Institute of Chartered Foresters on the day she graduated from Edinburgh University with a first class Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Forestry.

She said: “My dissertation was the most challenging piece of work I’ve done yet, so receiving this award as a result is really great. It’s really nice to know that all the effort over this year was worth it and to get some recognition for it.”
