Capital street most expensive in Scotland

A CITY centre street is the most expensive in Scotland, according to a new property rich list.

The street rankings, drawn up by property finder Zoopla, put North Charlotte Street, close to the First Minister’s official residence in Charlotte Square, top of the rich list with an average house price of £1,791,179.

Whitehouse Terrace in Edinburgh was in third place with house prices averaging £1,520,685, while Easter Belmont Road came fifth at £1,413,752.

There are now 31 streets in Scotland with an average house price of more than £1 million, with 14 of them in Edinburgh.

And in a survey of areas with the highest average house prices in Scotland, four parts of East Lothian were listed in the top five.

Humbie and North Berwick came second and third in the average price list for areas at £388,076 and £313,556 respectively, with Gullane and Longniddry fourth and fifth.

Nicholas Leeming, of Zoopla.co.uk, said: “In Scotland you get a lot more bang for your buck.”
