Capital office hit by fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze in the basement of Standard Life offices in the Capital yesterday.

The fire was caused by an electrical fault in the building on Conference Square.

A call was made to Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service just before 2.45pm, prompting crews to use breathing apparatus to enter the building. No-one was hurt in the blaze.
