Capital man to face attempted murder charge
Douglas Fraser, 39, of Edinburgh, was alleged to have attacked a man to his severe injury and permanent impairment.
He was also accused of failing to stop and report an accident and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Hide AdHe made a brief appearance from custody in private before Sheriff Kathrine Mackie yesterday and made no plea or declaration.
Fraser's case was continued and he was released on bail.
His appearance in court follows an incident in the Jock's Lodge area of the city in the early hours of 2 December last year.
A man was found with serious head injuries on Portobello Road near Piershill Square East at around 1:30am.
