Capital makes itself heard

MORE noise complaints are recorded in Edinburgh than anywhere else in Scotland, new figures have shown.

The results mean that the Capital has topped the complaints league for several years, with more than 10,000 domestic and non-domestic gripes being registered complaints last year.

The Edinburgh figures – released by Health Protection Scotland – surpass even Glasgow, and comfortably outweigh every other local authority in Scotland.

Experts have said previously that a combination of an urban setting, more tenement housing and even Edinburgh residents' penchant for complaining were the reasons for the high numbers.
