Capital hotel’s team scoops five awards for excellence

AN Edinburgh hotel is celebrating after scooping five accolades at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

Among the awards received by the George Hotel was a gold laurel for outstanding achievement and management excellence for general manager, David Welch.

The team at the George Hotel were also recognised for their commitment to excellence, with 22-year-old Duncan Milne winning a manager gold medal, Louise Doig being named housekeeper of the year, Shaun Osborne achieving a maintenance gold award and executive head chef Stewart Jarvie winning the hotel chef medailles d’argent.

Mr Welch said: “The George is one of the finest hotels in the UK and I am extremely pleased that we have been recognised at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

“Our team works very hard and I am proud of every member of staff for their contribution and dedication. I am delighted to have won the gold laurel.”
