Canine DNA helps catch carjacker

A CRIMINAL responsible for a carjacking at gunpoint was jailed thanks to DNA from his pet dog, police said yesterday.

Hairs and blood were matched to Peter Mahoney's Staffordshire bull terrier after the car he stole was found.

Mahoney, 33, of London, was told he will serve at least four years behind bars.
