Calls to get link on track

THE Scottish Government is being urged to speed up the Borders rail link after one of three potential contractors withdrew from tendering.

Borders Lib Dem MSP Jeremy Purvis said: "We need to make sure the project now moves with greater certainty."

Midlothian Labour MSP Rhona Brankin said: "This is a hugely important project, not just for the Borders but also for Midlothian, where four of the new stations will be situated."
