Call to join in 10k run

WOMEN from the Capital are being encouraged to sign up for a fundraising charity run later this year.

The Ignis Asset Management Women’s 10k takes place in Glasgow on Sunday, May 13, and children’s charity Action for Children is encouraging women from Edinburgh to raise money for a good cause.

Action for Children Scotland fundraiser, Carol McKinlay, hopes runners will use the opportunity to raise money for the charity, which supports vulnerable children and young people.

She said: “Last year, 90 women from across the country ran for Action for Children Scotland, raising almost £7000.

“This year we hope 150 women will race for Action for Children – and we want to hear from runners from Edinburgh.”
