Call to devolve tax on flying

EDINBURGH Airport has joined calls for the UK Government to devolve authority for setting Air Passenger Duty (APD) to Holyrood.

Replying to the UK Government's consultation on proposals for APD, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports, which are owned by BAA, have all called for the devolution of the tax. The Calman Commission recommended the devolution of APD as part of the Scotland Bill, a position supported by the Scottish Government.
