Call for better broadband

A COUNCILLOR representing the Fairmilehead area has urged the city council to call for superfast broadband to be extended there.

It emerged last week that more than 50,000 homes in Edinburgh will benefit from BT’s extension of its super-fast broadband to seven Edinburgh exchanges.

However, Fairmilehead exchange was not one of them and Tory councillor Elaine Aitken has lodged a motion for a meeting of the full council calling on the council to work with local groups and residents to enable it to be included in future phases.
