Call for ban on monkeys as pets

MORE than 5,000 monkeys are being kept as pets in the UK, prompting calls for a ban.

Tory MP Mark Pritchard said Westminster should end the "barbaric and outdated" practice of letting people keep primates as household pets, many in "cruel and cramped conditions".
