Cadet ranks among best

A BROXBURN Academy pupil has been made the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for West Lothian.

The title was awarded to Noel Pope, 17, for one year and reflects the teenager’s achievements in the West Lothian Army Cadet Force.

Noel, who is a sixth-year pupil at Broxburn Academy, said: “During my five years in the cadets, I have moved up the ranks to my new rank of Company Sergeant Major. I was delighted to have been nominated and to receive the honour of becoming the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet.”

He added: “I am delighted to have been asked to represent the cadets and be with the Lord Lieutenant at the Remembrance Parade in Livingston.”
