Butcher tastes pie victory

A FAMILY-RUN butcher in the Capital has topped the cold savoury category in the World Scotch Pie Championships.

Crombie’s of Edinburgh, based in Broughton Street, also scooped a silver award in the bridie category while Boghall Butchers of Bathgate, former two-time World Scotch Pie champions, earned a gold award in the hot savoury section and won the seafood category with a medley of seafood pie.

The West Lothian butchers also won the Best Overall Savoury Product and the MacLean Cup as well as earning a bronze award in the bridie section.
