Business as usual as fate is decided

THE Edinburgh branch of children's clothing retailer Adams is to stay open despite its parent company falling into administration.

MCR has been appointed administrator of JS Childrenswear but confirmed that all branches of Adams, including one at Cameron Toll, will remain open.

JS Childrenswear bought Adams' former parent firm Adams Childrenswear last January after it fell into administration.

Paul Clark, partner at MCR, said: "Like many retailers, it has experienced a difficult trading environment during the course of the past 12 months which has been exacerbated by a further downturn and general tightening of the credit markets."

He added: "The company is trading as normal at present while all options are considered.

"We are now looking at the viability of the business with a view to securing a going concern sale."
