BTP to tackle sectarianism

BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) is set to become the first police force in Scotland to provide all its officers and support staff with dedicated anti-sectarianism training.

BTP was today due to launch a partnership with anti-sectarian charity, Nil by Mouth, less than a week after new legislation aimed at tackling sectarian and offensive behaviour at football matches was passed.

All of BTP’s Scottish 250 officers will take part in a series of workshops and seminars aimed at raising awareness of the issue.
