Bruce ready to address financial crisis summit

Council chief executive Sue Bruce is to attend a conference on the financial crisis in France.

Mrs Bruce will deliver a presentation at the Urban Land Institute Europe’s conference in Paris, which runs from December 31 until February 1.

Her attendance at the conference will come at no cost to the city council, with travel costs and subsistence to be picked up by the event organisers.

Her attendance was approved following consultation with council leader Jenny Dawe and Alasdair Maclean, director of corporate governance.

Delegates will hear the strategies Edinburgh has adopted to succeed on the international stage while the city’s financial services sector has been hit hard.
