Brother’s pain at hit-and-run

The brother of a young man murdered in a deliberate hit-and-run has said he is “heartbroken” that he will never see him again.

Frank Baxter, 23, died in hospital after he was mown down by a pick-up truck late on Tuesday night. The father-of-three was attacked in Crindledyke Crescent in Newmains, North Lanarkshire, at 11pm.

Police said the blue truck had been driven at him on purpose.

Mr Baxter’s older brother Matthew, who is currently abroad, wrote on Facebook: “I’m in another country heartbroken. I will never ever c my wee brother again. It hasnt really sank in yet. Feel like I’m in a dream.”
