Broadband leader

LIVINGSTON has become the first town in West Lothian to receive what is claimed to be the UK's fastest broadband, provided by Virgin Media.

One hundred megabit broadband, which is nearly 16 times the average UK speed, allows users to download an entire music album in as little as five seconds, a television show in around 30 seconds and a film in as little as one and a half minutes.

Livingston Labour MP Graeme Morrice said: "In this digital age, it is vital that people have access to the fastest broadband in order to make their use of the internet as quick and easy as it can be."
