Britons jailed for child abuse at orphanage

TWO Britons were starting long jail sentences yesterday after they were convicted of abusing children at an orphanage in Albania.

Judges in the capital, Tirana, jailed social therapy nurse Dino Christodoulou, 45, from Blackburn, Lancashire, for 20 years and Robin Arnold, 56, a salesman from Cromer, Norfolk, for 15 years and six months. Both men worked as caretakers at the His Children Orphanage in Tirana.

In November 2008 David Brown, 58, of Edinburgh – the founder of the orphanage – was jailed for 20 years for sexually abusing the children.
