Bridge jump injuries

A MAN has been taken to hospital after an incident at a bridge in the city centre.

It is understood the individual jumped from North Bridge and sustained severe injuries after landing on the roof of Waverley station.

Police, firefighters and an ambulance crew were called out at 6.45am yesterday.

A Medic One vehicle – with doctors and nurses on board carrying additional equipment and drugs – attended the scene.

Firefighters from Tollcross and Newcraighall also attended and used a basket stretcher to remove the man from the roof of the station.

He was taken to ERI with multiple injuries.
