In with the Bricks

JOHN Sturrock QC, founder and chief executive of Core Solutions Group, has been invited to join Brick Court Chambers in London as a door tenant, in his capacity as a mediator.

He will continue to lead Core and to practice as a mediator with Core in Scotland and elsewhere.

Responding to the invitation to join Brick Court, John said: “My primary and continuing commitment is to Scotland and to Core, where we have seen remarkable changes in the past ten years. Joining up with Brick Court gives access to an international marketplace in addition to the national market. It is also recognition of the place that mediation has secured in business and elsewhere and of Core’s standing in the mediation world. There is such potential still to be fulfilled in the mediation field and I hope that this link-up will help to achieve some of that.”

Core’s Director of Mediation Services, Pamela Lyall added: “This is great news for both John and Core. It is well deserved recognition for John of his exceptional standing in the mediation community here in Scotland and beyond, and indeed of the work which we continue to undertake through Core.”

Jonathan Hirst QC, Brick Court’s joint head of Chambers commented: “John has an increasingly broad practice mediating, training and coaching that takes him around the world and into the frontier areas of government and international issues such as climate change.”

Tony Willis, one of Brick Court’s leading mediators, said of John Sturrock’s appointment along with the leading New Zealand mediator, Geoff Sharp :”We could not be more delighted. These are two thoughtful and very experienced professional mediators with wide experience and geographical reach. We are good friends and have long admired their energy and success.”
