In it, he had written: “To Brian, Amy + Sadie

“Congratulation [sic] on your new baby boy Billy. Hope he is not too noisy.

“PS. Please stop having babys [sic] you will have my bank account cleared out.

“Love Adam.”

O’Driscoll tweeted a photo of the card to his 521,000 followers adding: “Firstly there was a couple of bob for our little one & now the wee man getting a few quid #generousAdam” suggesting that the boy had previously sent money for the couple’s daughter Sadie.

Known affectionately as BOD, O’Driscoll retired on March 15, 2014 as Ireland beat France in Paris for only the second time in 42 years and secured the Six Nations championship.
