Boy band gig on city screen

Westlife fans in Edinburgh will be able to watch the band’s farewell concert live on the big screen next weekend.

Vue cinemas are to show a satellite broadcast of the event from Dublin’s Croke Park at 8.30pm next Saturday.

The Irish boy band, formed in 1998, have sold more than 45 million records worldwide and achieved 14 number one singles in the UK, including Mandy, Uptown Girl and Flying Without Wings.

They announced last October they were to split after the release of their Greatest Hits album and a tour this spring.
