Book review: The Hidden Child by Camilla Lackberg

THE HIDDEN CHILD BY CAMILLA LACKBERG (Harper, £7.99) ***

SWEDEN, the present day. Erika, a true crime writer, and her husband Patrik, a cop, have a one-year-old baby. Erika wants to write a book. So Patrik goes on paternity leave, and looks after the baby. Then weird things start to happen. An elderly neighbour is found dead – not just that, he s been dead for ages. Generations of flies have fed upon his corpse. What's more, this guy knew Erika's late mother. He was an expert on Nazi memorabilia. And, somehow, Erika's mother was in possession of a Nazi medal. Very readable. Lots of surprises.
