Bones found on golf course ‘may be human’

BONES found during an excavation of the world’s oldest golf course today may be human.

Police were called to Musselburgh Links Golf Course, in East Lothian, near the race course, at around 12pm after the remains were discovered.

A police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders Police responded to the Musselburgh Links Golf Course at around 12pm following the discovery of potential human remains.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the remains will be sent for further analysis.”
