Bogus bank call warning

ELDERLY people have been warned to be vigilant after a 70-year-old Glasgow woman was targeted by a bogus bank call.

The woman caller phoned to say new cards had been sent out and asked if she had received them. Later, she called back and asked for security details and her PIN. She advised the pensioner to call the number on her card, but the line was held open and she divulged details to the original caller.

The woman, from Kelvinside, became suspicious and called her bank, who told her to contact the police.
