Body sparks murder inquiry

POLICE launched a murder inquiry yesterday after a man's body was found in a street in Fife.

An ambulance was called to an incident in Rosyth shortly after 1am, when the man was found lying outside a property.

He died a short time after arrival in hospital.

A worker at the nearby Elder Lea Guest House said: "One of the residents was found dead outside the guesthouse."

Two people were later arrested and charged in connection with the death.

Inspector David Dryburgh of Fife police said a man and a woman will appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court tomorrow.

He said police still wanted to hear from witnesses, adding: "I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary in Rosyth to contact us."
