The man was described as being in his 50s or possibly 60s, with thinning grey hair and a full greyish beard. He was 5ft 7in in height and of slim build.

He was fully clothed, wearing a grey Trespass jacket and a Regatta fleece, red polo shirt, blue jeans, and black leather shoes, size seven.

The body is not that of missing man Alan Watson, who is believed to have gone into the River Ness on 23 February and has not yet been found. Police have contacted his family to update them.

Officers have urged anyone who recognises the description of the man to get in touch.
