Relatives of missing kayaker Jason Chung Wai-Ho have been told.

Mr Chung Wai-Ho, from Glasgow, was last seen in his inflatable kayak off Traigh beach near Arisaig in the Highlands on January 13.

Teams, including the emergency services, the RNLI, rescue dogs and Lochaber and Skye Mountain Rescue team had been involved in previous searches for the missing 39-year-old.

Confirming the discovery on Friday, Police Scotland said in a statement: “Following a report from a member of the public this afternoon, a body has been recovered from the shoreline of the Isle of Rum.

“The body has been recovered to the mainland by officers, who attended with the coastguard.

“The family of Jason Chung Wai-Ho, who has been missing from the Arisaig area since 13th January, has been informed.”

The body has not yet been formally identified.
