Blind man missing from care home in Aberdeen

GRAMPIAN Police have launched a search for blind man who has been reported missing from his home in Aberdeen.

Robert Smith, 62, was last seen in the Northfield area of the city by staff at the Westerton Care Home this morning.

A spokesman for the North east force said: “Police are anxious to trace Robert Smith because he suffers from various medical conditions and is registered blind. Mr Smith is described as being of broad build, 6ft 2ins tall, with grey hair that is thin on top and long at the sides. When last seen was wearing a navy Berghaus jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and uses a white stick. He may also be wearing a black woollen hat.”

He added: “Police are appealing for Mr Smith to contact them or alternatively a family member to confirm that he is safe and well.”
