SCOTTISH Coal liquidator Blair Nimmo called for all parties involved in the sale of assets to “work together in a constructive and professional manner” as he works to close a deal “in as short a timescale as possible”.

KPMG’s head of restructuring confirmed that he was in negotiations
with a “variety of parties who have expressed an interest in the business or more precisely certain parts of it”, adding that the failure of Scottish Coal represented “an extremely complex set of issues affecting a wide variety of stakeholders”.

Local authorites, the government and campaigners are concerned that new owners will walk away from 11 sites that the company failed to remediate before it was put into liquidation.
