Bingo winner at top of the shop

A CITY bingo player is celebrating after winning a £10,000 jackpot at an event in Glasgow.

Sandra Henry, 66, from Silverknowes, a regular customer at Mecca Leith, scooped the prize at the red carpet bingo evening at Mecca Glasgow Quay. She attended the event with her friend, Pat Stout, with whom she shared her winnings, and now plans to spend her money on a holiday to Ibiza.

She said: “I play bingo regularly but this was my first big win. It was a lovely surprise.”

Duncan Anderson, general manager at Mecca Glasgow Quay, said: “I have never seen the atmosphere in the club so electrifying.”
